Lamb Jam: Thanksgiving Edition

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Not simply because, to paraphrase H2O, we get to “eat like it’s for charity!” but because I think it’s a good thing to have at least one day a year whose stated purpose is being thankful. Certainly, there are opportunities almost every day to be thankful for what we have, what inspires us and why we keep going but to have a single day where, ostensibly, the entire United States focuses on this activity is pretty awe-inspiring.

There’s a lot of stuff I’m thankful for that I’m not going to go into here. But here’s a few things that I feel OK saying thanks publicly for this year:

Gordon is thankful for…

-Really solid and supportive friendships made over the past year. You know who you are.
-A decent Philosophy department at UGA and the fact that his life is structured such that he can go to school and study what he likes.
-being able to do the bulk of his work in the middle of the night when the world is closed (or at least quiet).
-The Athens music scene and the city of Athens, GA. (Come see us sometime!)
-North Georgia in Autumn.
-The Internet. Don’t laugh.
-His family.

Since this will be the last you’ll hear from me until next Monday here’s a whole bunch of stuff from the archive. It’s compiled here with no rhyme or reason other than the fact that these are all records I like and I want to share them. Enjoy. Happy Thanksgiving.
